Biographies of the Firm’s Principals
Alan M. Rosa, P.E. Principal
Mr. Rosa has more than twenty years experience in the structural design and renovation of commercial, residential, educational, mixed use and transportation projects. He has extensive experience in the design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures. Prior to joining SCS, he served as Department Head of a mid-sized engineering firm in Westchester County, NY. While in that position he was responsible developing and managing the structural department and was involved in all phases of structural design from schematic design through project administration. Mr. Rosa excels in balancing a project’s architectural requirements with efficient, economical structural systems.

James H. Fahey, P.E., S.E. Principal
Mr. Fahey has over ten years experience in the field of structural engineering. He is involved in the structural design, renovation and rehabilitation of a wide range of projects, including high-rise and low-rise commercial and residential, educational, industrial, transportation, telecommunications and institutional facilities and also has extensive experience in the structural analysis and design of telecommunication towers and other structures. His hands on approach to design and project management through all stages of a project, along with his innovative thinking and work ethic, have resulted in efficient, cost-effective, and timely solutions for our Clients. Mr. Fahey is member of the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He also holds the NCEES Model Law Structural Engineer designation (M.L.S.E.) and is a licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.) in the State of Illinois.

Andrew P. McConnell, P.E., S.E. Principal
Mr. McConnell has over ten years experience designing structures as well as investigating and renovating existing buildings. He has been involved in all phases of structural design and construction for a variety of steel, concrete and timber framed buildings and other structures. Mr. McConnell also utilizes his extensive experience in computer analysis and design to contribute to the optimization of design and structural systems. His hands on approach to all phases of the design process, from concept through construction, have resulted in cost-effective and efficient systems that address the needs of owners, architects and builders. Mr. McConnell also holds the NCEES Model Law Structural Engineer (M.L.S.E.) designation and is a licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.) in the State of Illinois.
